Textile ministry seeks additional funds under TUFS

The textile ministry is seeking an additional Rs 1,900 crore under the Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (TUFS). This follows the release of Rs 1,100 crore in the first quarter of 2009 by the ministry. TUFS, introduced in April 1999, aims to resolve technological obsolescence and improve economies of scale.
